April/May Newsletter
Dear Praying
Friends,
Greetings in the
precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ! I trust this letter finds you
all doing well and enjoying this beautiful spring season.
Well…it’s official!
On May 1st, I am moving to Mexico! It’s hard to believe this
day has finally arrived!
Over the next couple
of weeks, I will be making some final preparations and plans for the
move. I was able to purchase a trailer and will be taking it down to
Mexico behind my vehicle. Since I need all my personal things, my
furniture and some things for the children’s home, I will be taking
quite a load! My home church has offered the use of an
additional van and
trailer so I will be able to take everything I need. My parents are
going along to help drive the vehicles and get my apartment set up once
we arrive. Please keep us in your prayers as we make the 3-day trip from
Atlanta to Saltillo.
After I get settled
in, I hope to begin the work on the building for the children’s home. As
I mentioned in the last newsletter, there is much work to be done. The
roof needs to be repaired, showers and bathrooms need to be built, etc.
The work will be done by local builders and by missions teams from the
States. Several people have already asked me about the possibility of
coming for a missions work trip. If you or your church would be
interested in this opportunity, please contact me at

My move to Mexico
means I only have a couple of weeks left to work in the Spanish Ministry
at my home church. I have been teaching these precious kids for a total
of 9 years! Leaving them will be very hard, but I know the ministry will
continue on in capable hands. Please pray for a smooth and easy
transition for both the kids and the other workers. We have been running
app. 50 children and teens each week and have had several new people
begin attending recently. What a blessing it has been to be involved in
this ministry and see the Lord work in the hearts and lives of these
kids. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.
As you can imagine,
there are some very big changes ahead for me! It is a wonderful,
exciting time, but it is also scary and a little bit overwhelming. I am
extremely close to my family and leaving them will be one of the most
difficult things I will have to encounter thus far. I ask that you
please pray for both me and them as we all adjust to this big change in
our lives.
Thank you all for
your continued support and prayers. Without you, this day would not be
possible! I look forward to the next few months and seeing how the Lord
will bless this new ministry in Saltillo, Mexico!
For His Honor and
Glory,
Amy L. Mussell

I just returned from
a short trip to Saltillo, Mexico. My father and I went down for a few
days to look at the building for the future children's home. Besides
installing the bathrooms and showers, there is also a lot of work to be
done on the building. It is much more than we originally anticipated!
The roof has been leaking very badly and has done a lot of damage to the
ceiling and walls. Due to the repairs and construction, I will not be
able to move immediately into the building. I will first be living in an
apartment right next door, on the same property. There is also some work
to be done on the apartment. We are planning another trip to
Saltillo so we can finish the apartment and have it ready soon. Please
pray that God would supply all the necessary funds for the construction
and repairs.
After all of that is
completed, DIF Saltillo (the Mexican version of social services) will
come out to the property and approve the building. When I receive this
approval, I will then be able to open the home for occupancy.
I was planning to be
down in Mexico soon, but I find my departure again delayed due to the
needed repairs before I can move in. I know the enemy will try to attack
this ministry and stop it before it can ever get started, but I know God
has His Hand upon us and will bring about this ministry in His Own
perfect timing.
Please pray for God's
direction over the next month or so as we work on these buildings and
prepare for the future!
Thank you for your
support and prayers! May God richly bless you all!
