Dear Praying Friends,                                                                                                                                          March/April 2009 Newsletter

Greetings from Mexico!!! I am writing you once again from south of the border!

After getting my cast off and going through several weeks of physical therapy, my doctor finally released me to come back to Mexico. Although I’m not quite back to 100%, the doctor said things will continue to improve over the next few months. I just have to keep doing my physical therapy exercises and not pushing myself too much at first. Please pray for continued healing and strengthening of my foot.  I’m feeling so much better already and am very excited to be getting back to a normal routine once again!

I’ve been back in Mexico a little over 2 weeks now and have been very busy since I arrived. There is still some minor work to be done here at the house. Today we are painting the boys and girls rooms and tomorrow a group of friends from church is coming to paint the outside of the house. The rooms are looking great so far and will look even better after their fresh coat of paint. Don’t forget to check out my website for updated pictures of the house! I mentioned in my last letter that I still lacked 5 mattresses for the bunk beds- many thanks to Bro. Mike Ramey of Liberty Baptist who donated the money to buy all 5 mattresses! What a blessing!!! All of the beds are now ready with adorable sheets, quilts, and stuffed animals- all things that people have  donated or made for the children. Also sitting ready in the rooms are toys, games and personal items donated by the teen girls Sunday School class of Henry Baptist.  Many thanks to them! It is such a tremendous encouragement to see so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ caring for and providing for these children. Thanks to ALL of you who have had a part with support, donations, and most importantly… prayer! I can’t wait to tell the kids one day how God began providing for them long before they ever arrived at “House of the Hope.”

This past week, I went to the immigrations office to apply for my residency status again. I had already applied for this once, but had to cancel the process and start over again due to an issue with my car paperwork. Please pray that these papers will be approved quickly. Because it is a religious visa, my papers will be sent to Mexico City to be approved by the office there. The Mexico City office is extremely busy and can take months to approve your paperwork due to the large amount of applications sent there. I need this paper (called an FM-3) before I can technically open the children’s home, so please pray for a speedy process and God’s perfect timing in this situation. I am also going to meet with a lawyer next week to ready some other papers I need for the children’s home.

Yesterday our church celebrated their anniversary and had a wonderful day with 3 guest preachers, special music from a college singing group in Mexico City and of course yummy Mexican food! Today we are continuing the celebration with a 3 day Bible conference.

Since I moved here last May, the Lord has allowed me to witness to a man named Victor several times. He and his family have become friends and are very interested in God, the Bible and church. The Lord is really working in Victor’s heart and I believe he is close to finally accepting Christ as his personal Savior. His wife also has many questions and is seeking the truth as well. They have 2 teenagers who also listen carefully to our conversations, but it seems his wife and children are all waiting to see what Victor will do and whether he will accept Christ himself. This family is very special to me and I ask that you please pray for them to understand the gift of salvation Christ offers. I know God would totally change their lives and give them the happiness, peace and joy they seek. Please pray for Victor and his precious family! They have promised to attend the Bible conference one night this week, so I am praying God will use the service to really speak to their heart.

As always, I appreciate your continued support and prayers! I am very happy to be back here in Mexico and am thankful for your prayers for the healing of my foot. May the Lord bless each and every one of you in a great and mighty way!

In Christ,
Amy L. Mussell

What Can I Do?

God's command is to teach all nations. There are many ways YOU can help fulfill this command. Many people, like myself, have been called to a foreign field.

Adopt-A-Kid

The Adopt-A-Kid program is doing great, but at this time we still have about 10 children who have not yet been adopted in prayer. If you are interested in adopting a child in prayer or learning more about this program, please click here.
