January/February/March Newsletter

Dear Praying Friends, I hope this letter finds you all doing well and enjoying the blessings of the Lord in 2012! God has certainly been good to us the 1st quarter of this new year and I’m excited to share some of those praises with you!

First of all, I want to thank the many people who so generously donated for this year’s coat and clothing drive. We had an overwhelming response this year and the items were a great blessing to the people during our cold winter. We collected over 1,200 coats, articles of clothing, gloves, socks, scarves and hats, as well as hundreds of toiletries and small games and toys. We were able to distribute these items in 4 different areas- one neighborhood of cardboard houses in the city and 3 small villages out in the mountains. God blessed in such a marvelous way this year- we were able to share the Gospel in every neighborhood and every person received a tract and book of John. In the end, God allowed us to see 7 adults accept Christ as their Savior- 4 women and 3 men! Six of the adults all lived in the same tiny village and I was only the 2nd white person they had ever seen. I felt led to go to this small place, even though it didn’t even have a name on the map. When we arrived however, it was obvious that it was all part of God’s plan… the people were so open and ready to hear the truth. What a joy it was to see them so eagerly bow their heads and accept Christ as their own personal Savior!!! So exciting to see God working in their hearts and lives!

Recently, we were able to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of one of our street clubs. We had over 100 people attend (parents and kids!) and had a wonderful response. This particular Bible club has been blessed in such a big way and we are so grateful for the changes God has wrought in the lives of both kids and parents! In the past couple of weeks, we have been able to see 9 kids accept Christ as their Savior! With our new van, God has also allowed me to expand the Sunday morning route in this neighborhood and we’re now taking kids and teens to church every week.

In my last letter, I shared how some of the ladies in our Bible study are suffering persecution at the hands of their husbands for attending class. After asking prayer for them and praying together as a class, we have seen God work true miracles in these situations! One of the men seemed to change his mind overnight and said that his wife and kids now had his permission to go to class. They now attend faithfully twice a week with no fear of him! Another woman who (along with her two young daughters) was literally beaten every single week for coming, experienced the same radical change… her husband told her that she and her daughters could both attend class with his blessing! What a blessed time at class when these women shared their wonderful praises with tears of joy streaming down their faces- God does answer prayers!

As we started a new year, I was able to go back over the records of the past few months to review what God did throughout the various ministries here in Saltillo. I am so happy to share with you these results. In 2011, God allowed us to see over 125 children accept Christ, along with 16 teenagers and 14 adults!!! We rejoice to see such a wonderful harvest and know that these precious people will one day be in heaven with their Savior. To God be all the honor and glory- we are so thankful for His blessings this past year!

Current events

In 2011, we had over 125 children accept Christ, along with 16 teenagers and 14 adults! Praise the Lord for the work He is doing in Mexico. He also provided us with a van for the ministry and has allowed our ladies Bible study and kids clubs to grow. Click here for more good news and current events!
