Greetings to you all on this last day of 2011! The Lord has certainly been good to us this year and has blessed the ministry in Mexico is many ways. To close out the year, I’d like to share with you many of the special praises God has granted us in the past few weeks.

Since my last prayer letter, we have had 12 kids get saved at 2 different Bible clubs. Many of these were older kids and teens who have been hearing the Gospel for some time now, but they hadn’t made a decision to accept Christ yet. I’m thrilled to say though that now they are saved and a part of the family of God! I’m very excited to see what God continues to do through our Bible clubs

Our ladies Bible study started over 6 months ago and though they have been growing and changing, we had not seen any accept Christ as their Savior. This particular group of ladies has been facing a lot of persecution from their husbands for coming and I feel like any desire to be saved has been hindered by their fear of what their husbands will do if they “convert”. They continue to be very faithful however and in the past few weeks, God has really answered some huge prayer requests of our class in big ways. The ladies have been so encouraged by this and I have seen them slowly thawing even more. I am thrilled to report that about a month ago, we had our first official salvation from the ladies class!!! She is a young mother named Rosario and comes to class with her 2 children. Her decision seems to have encouraged the others and given them courage- I believe that we will see many more saved over the coming months. A few of the ladies are Christians already and it is also exciting to see them growing spiritually.

In another answer to prayer, God has provided us with a van for the ministry! Another missionary family to Mexico decided to sell their van and I was able to purchase it from them. It is a large 15 passenger and I am so excited to be able to finally have a van. I know this will bless our ministry in a huge way! Although it has Mexican plates on it, it is currently in Georgia. I came home for Christmas and will be driving it back shortly. It is already getting filled up with many things people have donated for our ministry- toothbrushes, toothpaste and toys, as well as clothes, hats, and gloves to distribute during this cold season. I have also just recently started a route for Sunday morning church and we have about 10 kids attending. With the new van, I will be able to pick up a lot more!

Recently, I was able to take a group of church teens downtown to pass out tracts. Even though it was absolutely freezing, we still had 8 teenagers come help. Together we were able to pass out over 2,200 tracts in under an hour! It is exciting to see these kids growing and becoming bolder in their evangelistic efforts! After our day together, they were very encouraged and the youngest girl in the group decided to further challenge herself by passing out tracts that week in school. In just three days, she had passed out over 100 tracts to both teachers and students. It is a blessing to see the teens becoming more excited to share God's Word! I thank God for giving me the opportunity to work with teens AND kids.

Now, for one of our biggest praises….. we finally received the final permit to become a non-profit in Mexico and start a children’s home!!!!! It was approved the week before Christmas! I can’t believe that we have finally finished this very long process. We have now been working on it for over 3 years and at times, I felt like giving it up as a lost cause! God is faithful though, even when we are not. I am so excited to be an official, government recognized association and have our papers. God is so good! As soon as I get back in January, I will start working directly with the local social services to accomplish things on their end. There is some more red tape and they will have to come out to inspect the home, etc. In the meantime, I am still praying desperately for a young couple or another woman to assist in the children’s home. God has blessed our ministries so much and allowed them to expand, so that I cannot do it alone and continue to have things grow. I know God has just the right helpers out there, so please make this a matter of serious prayer!

God is so good! Looking back on the past year, I can see the evidence of His Hand in so many situations and areas. I am so grateful for His loving care, protection and blessings upon our endeavors in Saltillo. Before I came home to Georgia, we were able to hold Christmas parties with our 2 regular Bible clubs and the ladies class. It was such a special time with each group being able to celebrate and then pray together thanking God for the greatest of all Christmas presents- salvation! Many thanks to the wonderful efforts of my home church for sending shoe boxes to give to the kids and to Directline Ministries for delivering them to Saltillo. It was great to be able to give the kids a present and see the excitement on their faces. More importantly though, it was such a joy to look back on the past year and thank God for all His blessings and see how He has helped the ministries grow. What a celebration!!!

I was also blessed to have a friend and fellow missionary come for a 3 week visit. Charlotte Mathews, missionary to England, was able to come and assist me in the work there and was such a help! She was also able to speak to our Bible clubs and ladies class about mission and the ministry in England. This was the first time they have heard a missionary (to them, I'm just Sister Amy) and they were so excited! Charlotte did a great job speaking to the different groups and they were so challenged, they have decided to start taking up a weekly missions offering for a missionary in Thailand. The poorest lady of the entire group gave 1 peso to the offering the first day- it reminded me of the widow’s mite and how every little thing offered freely to God can be used in a big way!

There are so many things to tell you and so many praises to share but there is never enough time or paper! We are truly so grateful for the many wonderful blessings God bestowed on our ministry in Mexico this year and so thankful for His guiding Hand. What a joy it is to work with these precious children in Mexico and see the way God is changing their homes and lives.

Thank you for your faithful support and prayers. We truly could not accomplish these things in Mexico without your help. May God bless you all in the greatest ways in 2012.

Happy New Year!

In Christ, Amy L. Mussell

What Can I Do?

God's command is to teach all nations. There are many ways YOU can help fulfill this command. Many people, like myself, have been called to a foreign field.

Would you also go?   Would you help?   Are you willing to go on a missions trip? Check out our available missions trips this summer for teens, adults, and highschool/college girls.
